Moody, DL

<<renowned American evangelist>>

Moody, who lived 1837-1899, was challenged by the statement, ‘The world has never yet seen what God can do through a man wholly consecrated to Him’. He determined he would be that man and although he had limited education, it is believed he was responsible for over one million conversions. He founded three Christian education facilities, a major publishing business, and inspired many people to become evangelists.

He is quoted as saying, ‘Out of 100 men, one will read a Bible, the other 99 will read the Christians…The Bible is not given for our information, but for our transformation…It is no use asking God to do for you what you can do yourself’.
