Graham, Billy

<<evangelist>>

This American evangelist who lived from 1918 to 2018 preached to more people in person, through his indoor and outdoor crusades, than anyone else in the history of Christianity. Each meeting, supported by the combined and united evangelical churches in an area, had a clear gospel presentation with numerous ‘The Bible says…’ statements and ended with an altar call for those who wanted to receive Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Trained counsellors were assigned to each enquirer to facilitate initial follow up and integration into a local church.

This unique ‘ambassador for Christ’ maintained his integrity throughout his life and ministry which spanned over 60 years. He is quoted as saying: ‘Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ’ and also ‘Knowing we will be with Christ forever far outweighs our burdens today! Keep your eyes on eternity!’
