The process of acquiring insight into one’s own character. This refers to people attempting to ‘find themselves’ and be empowered through self-awareness, without bringing God into the equation. For believers, we should discover who we are ‘in

Be active in discovering and developing the skills                        and characteristics God has given you

Christ’ and give ourselves fully to Him and His purposes, not doing this independently of Him (Act 17:28). Without Christ we are nothing of eternal significance. God made us all unique with specific abilities that we should utilize to advance His Kingdom and we should still be ‘true to ourselves’ as we come to understand our role. See yourself through His eyes.
