Recommendation

What an outstanding endorsement from God about Job, “There is no one on earth like him, he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil” (Job 1:8). God sees our heart and character – if we just have a façade or if we are genuine all the way through.

John the Baptist testified about Christ’s ministry, then Jesus declared that His Father provided Him with an even greater commendation (Jn 3:31-36, 5:31-40). Jesus also gave

 Am I a good advertisement for Christ?

John the Baptist a high recommendation (Mt 11:11-14). Live so God is able to speak highly of you too. Will He be able to say to you, “Well done good and faithful servant” (Mt 25:21,23).

“Tabitha…was always doing good and helping the poor” (Act 9:36). Her benevolent character shone out from her life. Paul said of Timothy, “I have no-one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare” (Phil 2:20). Could others make glowing yet truthful recommendations about me?

We bear witness to Jesus [recommend Him] by both our words and deeds. Do I make others thirsty for Him by the way I live (Mt 5:13)? Does the quality of my workmanship meet His standards? (2 Tim 2:15).  If I were the boss would I employ me?
