The Church as the Bride of Christ

The term “Bride of Christ” describes the church — all born-again believers, along with faithful followers from the Old Testament, who are united with Christ, the divine Bridegroom, for all eternity (2 Cor 11:2; Rev 19:7). This imagery conveys intimacy, purity, and covenantal commitment. Scripture reveals that “Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the Word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless” (Eph 5:25–27).
