AD

From the Latin, Anno Domini meaning ‘in the year of the Lord’ – from the time of Jesus’ birth until the present (as opposed to BC which is ‘Before Christ’). Any date BC is indicated as such (eg 50 BC) so any date without those letters indicates it is in the current (AD) era. The Jews call it CE – Common Era.
